What is Camera By Her Side?

► A youtube channel & digital media production company created by Jessica Norton in 2009 documenting concerts in the NY/NJ tri-state area., interviews with young hollywood stars, and event coverage. CBHS has caught the attention of Seventeen Magazine, Huffington Post Teen, Smart Girls Group, and Scholastic Choices Magazine.

Who is Jessica Norton?

► 21, Communication Arts Major at Marymount Manhattan College. Creator of Camera By Her Side. Seventeen Magazine Buzz Girl Entertainment Reporter, Contributing Writer for Huffington Post Teen, East Coast free lancer for Hollywood Teen Zine. Previously: Alloy Entertainment Digital Intern, Assistant Team Advisor at NSLC's Journalism, Film, and Media Arts program, Features Entertainment & Lifestyles Intern at Seventeen Magazine, and Editorial Intern at Us Weekly. Currently an editorial intern at MTV News. Loves yoga, traveling, pop culture, froyo, the beach, boy bands, bright colors, lilly pulitzer, and lemonade.

2013 Scholarship Recipient

► The Future Media Leader Scholarship recognizes the academic achievements and merits of a student majoring in communication at New York City Tri-State colleges and universities. Jessica was honored to be the 2013 recipient of the Future Media Leader Scholarship from AWM-NYC.

Scholastic Choices Magazine

► During the Spring Semester of her junior year in college, Jessica accepted an internship with Viacom and was serendipitously placed in the editorial department of MTV News (basically a dream come true.) Through out the internship Jess contributed content to the MTV News website, assisted on shoots (such as interviews with Cody Simpson, Adam Lambert, and promos for MTVU Woodie Awards) and worked closely with the editorial and production staff to learn about projects. This internship led her to be offered a position as a freelance writer for MTV Pop.

► At sixteen years old, Jessica was interviewing bands, reviewing albums, live-tweeting movie premieres, and sharing her playlists as Seventeen Magazine's Buzz Girl entertainment reporter. For four years Jessica posted articles weekly on Seventeen.com and appeared in her own column about hot summer concerts in the May 2011 Summer Entertainment Guide. In 2013, after her first year in college, she served as the Entertainment and Lifestyles features intern for Seventeen Magazine and contributed to projects and content, such as the the 2014 Hot Guy Panel, Seventeen tumblr page, and Intern Guide.

► Jessica was stoked to be invited as one of the first teen bloggers on the Huffington Posts new section Huffington Post High School (Now called HuffPost Teen.) Jessica regularly contributed to HuffPost HS with articles about indie bands, hair donations, iCarly, and teen philanthropists.

► During the summer of 2013 Jessica served as Alloy Entertainment's intern. Contributing to AE, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and The Vampire Diaries websites and social media pages, as well as maintaining Pinterest, having a featured Throwback Thursday book post, and served as one of Gossip Girl's minions at Cody Simpson's album release party.
